Can the patterns and colors be changed?
The lights are individually addressable which allows you to choose which lights you want on and what color (over 16 million different colors). We also have 102 preset patterns.
How does the accent lighting work?
The lights are individually addressable which allows you to choose which lights you want on and what color (anything from bright to soft white). For example, you can turn on two lights at the top of each peak while the rest of the lights stay off.
Can multiple nightly and weekly timers be set?
Nightly & weekly timers as well as calendar events for holidays and other special occasions. We are linked with weather.com so you can link sunset to sunrise.
How long does the system last?
JellyFish Lighting System is a robust, outdoor rated LED lighting system. LED lighting is known for its durability. Each diode (or puck light) has 3 LED lights which makes them brighter than any of our competitors. The LEDs are rated for 30,000 hours of use which is 15-20 years of nightly use for 3-4 hours.
What is the cost per foot installed?
Lighting typically charges $25-$35 per foot installed. The price per foot is based on difficulty, roof line style, location, and time of year.
What is the warranty?
Generation Lights offers a warranty of 1 year covering labor and 3 years covering parts.
How many different colors and patterns can be set?
RGB colors can produce over 16 million different colors. The user can create custom programs and colors; therefore, the possibilities are limitless. So the lights could be set to even just a soft white color.
Can I control the front of my home separately from the back?
Yes, we have zoning which allows the ability to only turn on certain sections of lights or to have different patterns on different parts of your home at the same time.
Where are the controller and power supplies mounted?
Generation lights will always look for the best location for the controller and any additional power supplies to be mounted obviously indoors, typically on a wall in the attic as first option or the garage but safe from the elements. One controller can power up to 300 ft depending on the wiring. From the best and safe location low voltage wire is run to the soffit of the first section of the roof.
Are there maintenance requirements with any of the equipment?
From time to time a light could go out and would require replacement.
How long does installation take?
Most average size homes can be completed in 3 to 5 hours. Larger homes one day, of course a very large custom project may take more time.
Where are the lights installed?
The lights are installed to the outer part of the soffit behind the fascia or trim, always facing downward.
What are the payment options?
Typically half down is due when scheduling an installation and the remaining balance is due upon completion of the project.
How much electricity does the system use?
The lights on full bright white use less than one watt of power. Also, the controller pulls about 1.1 amps of electricity per 100 feet.
How do the lights look when not turned on during the day?
Lighting is discreet during the day as each light is inset under its own trim.
